Top Sports Games of All Time

Throughout the year, people watch their favorite pro athlete day or night for victory. Sports video games give fans the chance to be in the athlete’s shoes and simulate the game. Sports for some people are hobbies or passions. Gaming is also a hobby but today’s sports games give you a new look into gaming with better quality and makes you feel like you won the championship. Everyone has a preferred sport but numbers don’t lie on the best selling franchises in the gaming industry. Here are the top 3 best selling sports games.

Madden NFL

Madden NFL is the third best selling franchise, selling 100 million copies since the beginning of the first game, Madden Football; the franchise is worth around $4 billion. Madden Football was first released in 1988 by Electronic Arts with John Madden on the cover. It started off with very few teams because they weren’t allowed to add any teams due to the lack of NFL or NFLPA licenses for authentic teams, player names, and stadiums. Eventually that problem was resolved since today we have players today in the game.

NBA 2K

NBA 2K is the second most selling franchise that sold over 100 million copies and once sold 4 million copies in the first week of being released. NBA 2K is one of the top selling game franchises. It’s also known that the 2K series has way more game modes than Madden does. Madden is usually the same old each year with no new game mode.

FIFA

The number one selling sports game is FIFA for EA sports. The football game is the number one choice for soccer fans across the world. The game is available on all types of platforms, the game has been out for over 18 years and is not done yet. By 2011, FIFA was available in over 50 countries and had been translated into 18 languages. It had sold over 100 million copies worldwide, and FIFA 12 had become the fastest selling sports game ever with over 3.3 million games sold. The most well known and most competitive Lionel Messi was on FIFA’s cover in 2012.
